Role overview
Put your underwriting judgement to work helping AI systems handle insurance decisions more accurately. You will create realistic cases and review how well a model reasons through risk, coverage and pricing.
What you’ll be doing
• Build examples based on underwriting situations, such as evaluating exposure, policy terms and coverage decisions.
• Write clear reference answers that show how an experienced underwriter would reach and explain a decision.
• Check AI responses for mistakes in risk classification, policy interpretation, pricing and supporting reasoning.
• Give written feedback and join onboarding and calibration sessions to keep the work consistent.
Who this could suit
Underwriters from life, health, property, casualty, commercial, specialty or reinsurance lines who enjoy explaining the reasoning behind a decision. Experience with multiple lines or an industry designation can be useful but is not required.
What you’ll need
At least two years of professional insurance underwriting experience. You should understand how provisions, exclusions, endorsements and rating factors affect coverage and price, and be able to explain risk decisions clearly in writing. Careful judgement and attention to detail are essential.
You don’t have to match every requirement exactly. We welcome applicants with different backgrounds, levels of experience and transferable skills.
Pay and working arrangements
Remote hourly work paying $80 per hour. The role asks for at least 20 hours per week, ideally 40 or more. Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
