Convection Stability Physics Researcher

Role overview Help develop and assess research-level physics problems about the stability of buoyancy-driven convection. The work needs original, verifiable reasoning in a narrow specialist field. What you’ll be doing • Create, solve, review or audit research problems matched to your publication record. • Set out complete reasoning that another physicist can check independently. • Work on Rayleigh–Bénard or porous-medium convection stability, depending on your specific expertise. Who this could suit Postdoctoral researchers, research scientists and junior faculty who have published on convection stability. Senior PhD students with a strong first-author record may also apply. What you’ll need A PhD in fluid mechanics, applied mathematics, mechanical engineering or a closely related field is mandatory. You must have published specifically on convection stability, with a verifiable record of representative papers and methods. Working ability in LaTeX, Python and Jupyter, plus written English at B2 level or above, is required. You don’t have to match every requirement exactly. We welcome applicants with different backgrounds, levels of experience and transferable skills. Pay and working arrangements Remote, asynchronous work at $80–$110 per hour.
