Role overview
Use your civil or structural engineering experience to improve AI tools for building design and modelling. This work centres on producing and checking complete engineering deliverables, then explaining the professional decisions behind them.
What you’ll be doing
• Create and review plans, elevations, sections, schedules and building information models.
• Work on complex or multi-building models using tools such as Revit or ArchiCAD.
• Apply relevant engineering standards, including the codes appropriate to each task.
• Export and validate IFC2x3 or IFC4 models, checking geometry, classification and property mapping.
• Explain design choices, constructability concerns and modelling errors in feedback for the project team.
Who this could suit
Engineers and architectural professionals with substantial hands-on responsibility for drawing and model production. Prior AI experience is not required. Professional registration, openBIM automation, clash detection or structural analysis software experience is a plus.
What you’ll need
Preferred qualifications include a related bachelor’s degree, at least five years of post-degree experience authoring complete drawing or model packages, and three years of daily advanced BIM use with IFC exports. Review-only experience does not meet the preferred production background. Strong knowledge of relevant codes, multidisciplinary projects and clear written and spoken English is important; a master’s degree is helpful.
You don’t have to match every requirement exactly. We welcome applicants with different backgrounds, levels of experience and transferable skills.
Pay and working arrangements
Remote contractor work paying $30–$50 per hour. Weekly hours are not specified.
