Python Backend Engineer — AI Agent Evaluation

Role overview Use your Python backend experience to build and test realistic software workflows for an AI agent evaluation project. This is a short contractor engagement with work across connector development and task design. What you’ll be doing • Build and test Python services that reproduce the behaviour of common workplace tools, or design realistic multi-step tasks from those workflows. • Check that connectors, tasks and evaluation criteria are accurate, useful and consistent. • Use AI coding assistants during development and take part in onboarding, calibration and quality reviews. Who this could suit Backend engineers who enjoy building APIs, testing systems and turning real workflows into precise evaluation tasks. Experience with AI-assisted development will be useful here. What you’ll need At least three years of backend development experience, strong Python skills using a framework such as FastAPI, Flask or Django, and practical experience with Git, Docker, REST APIs, testing and code quality. The listing also asks for daily use of AI coding assistants. You need to be able to complete at least one approved task per day during the project. You don’t have to match every requirement exactly. Pay and working arrangements Remote independent contractor work paying $300 per approved task, rather than an hourly rate. The project is expected to run for four weeks and start promptly.
