What you’ll be doing
- Review microstructures, heat treatments and weld macro etch evidence.
- Assess coatings and laser powder bed fusion defects.
- Record reasoned acceptance decisions using applicable AMS, ASTM, AWS, NADCAP and coating standards.

What you’ll need
The preferred profile includes at least eight years assessing micrographs, weld macros, fractures, coatings or additive builds, plus current or previous AWS CWI credentials or equivalent metallurgical certification. Heat treatment, metallography, weld/coating inspection and LPBF knowledge, with clear technical reporting, are requested.
You don’t have to match every requirement exactly. We welcome applicants with different backgrounds, levels of experience and transferable skills.
Pay and working arrangements
Remote contractor work paying $80–$130 USD per hour. US-based professionals are preferred; this is a preference rather than a stated mandatory restriction. The listing states 20 openings.
