Role overview
Demonstrate how reliable mechanical design work is carried out in FreeCAD. You will design realistic tasks, record your own complete workflows and define checks that distinguish a robust engineering model from one that only looks correct.
What you’ll be doing
- Create practical FreeCAD tasks covering parts, constrained sketches, assemblies, drawings or manufacturing exports.
- Prepare reference files and record the full sequence of actions using the supplied recording tools.
- Document the workflow so another engineer can reproduce it, including the intended result and meaningful intermediate checkpoints.
- Check dimensions, constraint completeness, feature references and whether the model survives parameter changes.
- Review task recordings and success criteria when assigned quality review work.
Who this could suit
Mechanical designers, product developers and manufacturing engineers with two to five years of professional CAD-focused experience and substantial hands-on FreeCAD use.
What you’ll need
The listed education level is a bachelor’s degree. You need fluent use of FreeCAD Sketcher and Part Design, knowledge of Part versus Part Design workflows, parametric modelling and expressions, and at least two additional relevant workbenches such as Assembly, TechDraw, Draft, Spreadsheet, FEM or CAM/Path. Be comfortable diagnosing constraint and geometry failures and working with STEP, IGES, BREP and STL or mesh formats. A computer running Windows 11, Ubuntu with X11, or macOS must be able to run FreeCAD and the required recording software together. Minimum B2 English, precise written documentation and consistent application of review criteria are required. You must be comfortable with screen recording, keep personal and confidential client material out of captures, and use approved applications. The project contract prohibits closed-source AI assistants; all work must reflect your own expertise.

Pay and working arrangements
Remote hourly contract paying up to $30 per hour, with flexible hours and asynchronous work. The source does not state a weekly hours commitment. Eligible locations are Bangladesh, Bhutan, Brazil, Cambodia, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Nepal, Pakistan, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Thailand, the Philippines, the United States, Timor-Leste and Vietnam. Work batches are assigned by operating system.
