Role overview
Use editorial judgment to assess writing produced by AI. You will compare responses to a brief and explain whether they are accurate, coherent and useful, paying particular attention to convincing prose that is not supported by evidence.
What you’ll be doing
- Read and compare AI-generated responses for clarity, tone, usefulness and adherence to the assignment.
- Apply quality scores and write concise explanations of your decisions.
- Identify factual mistakes, unsupported claims and gaps in the logic or structure.
- Check whether the writing suits the audience and meets the requested editorial standard.
- Document findings in the project tools and coordinate asynchronously with other reviewers.
Who this could suit
Journalists, editors, reporters, fact-checkers, copy editors, ghostwriters and published authors who regularly assess or improve other people’s writing.
What you’ll need
The preferred profile includes native or near-native written English, a professional writing or editorial background, and experience applying a style guide or checking factual accuracy. A university degree completed in the United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Ireland, Australia or New Zealand is listed as a preference; the listing does not make a degree universally mandatory. Strong analysis, attention to detail and dependable independent work are valuable. AI evaluation and annotation experience are helpful but not required.
You don’t have to match every requirement exactly. We welcome applicants with different backgrounds, levels of experience and transferable skills.
Pay and working arrangements
Remote contractor work paying $90–$140 per hour. Weekly hours, project duration and payment frequency are not specified.
