Role overview
Help improve AI tools that support legal advocacy by bringing practical litigation judgement to a part-time fellowship. You will work through realistic legal exercises and assess whether AI responses reflect persuasive writing, sound reasoning and effective litigation strategy.
What you’ll be doing
• Complete simulated motion-drafting, briefing and litigation-strategy exercises.
• Review AI-generated legal responses and explain weaknesses in their analysis or advocacy.
• Develop clear grading criteria that distinguish strong legal work from flawed responses.
• Work with research and product teams to refine evaluation examples and guidance.
Who this could suit
Experienced civil litigators with a strong record of federal court motion practice. Exposure to legal technology or AI is useful, as is experience across motions to dismiss, summary judgment and discovery disputes.
What you’ll need
Substantial federal civil litigation experience, including briefing, motion practice and case strategy. Applicants must have won at least three motions in federal civil litigation and be able to substantiate that record with court orders or docket entries. Strong written and verbal communication, careful legal analysis and the ability to give precise feedback to colleagues from different disciplines are essential.
You don’t have to match every requirement exactly. We welcome applicants with different backgrounds, levels of experience and transferable skills.
Pay and working arrangements
Remote, part-time contractor fellowship paying $150–$300 per hour. A specific weekly hours commitment is not stated.
