Role overview
Help improve AI language understanding through careful Portuguese audio transcription. You will turn speech into reliable written records, check existing transcripts and contribute the cultural and linguistic detail that automated tools can miss.
What you’ll be doing
- Transcribe and annotate Portuguese recordings, with occasional English audio where assigned.
- Review conversational and formal speech for wording, context and speaker nuances.
- Edit and validate transcripts against the audio and project conventions.
- Resolve errors or ambiguities and explain relevant language or cultural observations.
- Use the project tools to submit consistent work and coordinate quality checks with the team.
Who this could suit
Experienced Portuguese transcribers or language professionals with an ear for detail and a systematic approach to checking audio.
What you’ll need
The preferred profile includes native-level Portuguese, professional transcription experience and familiarity with transcription conventions and annotation tools. English proficiency is needed to follow instructions and handle occasional English recordings. Accuracy, organisation and the ability to distinguish subtle differences in speech are important. A relevant portfolio or previous linguistic data work is useful; previous AI experience is not required and no degree requirement is stated.
You don’t have to match every requirement exactly. We welcome applicants with different backgrounds, levels of experience and transferable skills.
Pay and working arrangements
Remote contractor work paying $20–$36 per hour. Weekly hours, project duration and payment frequency are not specified.
