Legal Writing Evaluator — AI Response Review

RemoteFinance & law · Experienced10 openings

Role overview

Evaluate the quality of legal and technical writing produced by AI. The work draws on your judgment as a legal writer: whether an argument is precise, appropriately qualified and supported. It does not involve providing legal advice or representing clients.

What you’ll be doing

  • Compare AI responses to legal or technical prompts against the instructions and intended audience.
  • Score clarity, tone, precision and the strength of the reasoning.
  • Identify unjustified certainty, unsupported statements, ambiguity and factual inconsistencies.
  • Write detailed explanations for your ratings and maintain an accurate review record.
  • Work with remote reviewers to apply evaluation standards consistently.

Who this could suit

Legal professionals experienced in drafting and reviewing briefs, legal memoranda, opinions, regulatory submissions or comparable written work.

What you’ll need

The preferred profile includes first-language-level or equivalent written English and a qualifying law degree from a university in the United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Ireland, Australia or New Zealand. Experience reviewing the work of junior lawyers, trainees or paralegals is valuable, as is the ability to adapt legal writing to professional, client or public audiences. Careful analysis and clear written reasoning matter. Familiarity with digital review tools or AI evaluation is useful but not required.

You don’t have to match every requirement exactly. We welcome applicants with different backgrounds, levels of experience and transferable skills.

Pay and working arrangements

Remote contractor work paying $90–$140 per hour. This is a writing evaluation engagement with no attorney–client relationship. Weekly hours, project duration and payment frequency are not specified.
